Powertrain coverage is an extended service contract that covers a vehicle's main powertrain components. This would include the engine, transmission, drive axles and drive shaft. Some enhanced Powertrain warranties will extend the coverage to include additional parts and components.
A Powertrain warranty will cover you for the really expensive major repairs. These types of vehicle warranties are an excellent value for the higher mileage older vehicles or if you are only concerned with the major catastrophic repair bills.
